1 cup butter; softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (6 oz.) jar maraschino cherries without stems; drained and halved
Additional confectioners' sugar

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar; gradually add flour. Shape a tablespoonful of dough around each cherry, forming a ball. Place 1" apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 325* for 18-20 minutes or until the bottoms are browned. Roll warm cookies in confectioners' sugar. Cool on wire racks.

"Butter Pecan Fudge" - 1 1/4 lbs.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup pecan halves; toasted and coarsely chopped

In a large heavy saucepan, combine butter, sugars, cream and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Stir in confectioners' sugar until smooth; fold in pecans.
Spread into a buttered 8" square dish; cool to room temperature. Cut into 1" squares. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

"Chocolate Peanut Squares" - 1 1/2 lbs.

2 cups confectioners' sugar
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter; melted
TOPPING:
2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
4 1/2 tsp. creamy peanut butter
1/2 tsp. butter

Line a 9" square pan with foil and butter the foil; set aside. In a large bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, peanut butter, crumbs and butter. Spread into prepared pan.
Combine topping ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl; heat until melted. Spread over peanut butter layer. Refrigerate until cool. Using foil, lift out of pan; cut into 1" squares. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

"Hazelnut Toffee"- 1 3/4 lbs.

2 tsp. plus 1 cup butter; divided
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts
TOPPING:
2 cups (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup finely chopped hazelnuts

Line a 13x9" pan with foil; coat foil with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. Butter the sides of a large heavy saucepan with the 2 tsp. of butter. Cube remaining butter; place in pan; add sugar, water and corn syrup. Cook and stir until mixture turns golden brown and a candy thermometer reads 300* (hard-crack stage).
Remove from heat; stir in hazelnuts. Pour into prepared pan without scraping; spread evenly. Let stand at room temperature until cool, about 1 hour.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips; spread evenly over toffee. Sprinkle with hazelnuts, pressing down gently. Let stand 1 hour; break into bite-size pieces. Store in refrigerator.

You could try making the brownies from scratch... I think it's easier to tweak something you have complete control over, as opposed to something you have minimal control over (like a boxed mix).

I think you could probably use just pumpkin pie spice... since it contains cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. I think extra cinnamon and nutmeg might be overkill.

If you didn't want to mess with the brownies, I would add just the pecans to the brownies and then make a cinnamon (or pumpkin pie spice) flavored whipped cream (you could use cool whip too... just add a little bit of cinnamon and mix until it tastes right to you. I bet the french vanilla cool whip would be awesome with cinnamon.) and then use the candy corn as a garnish. I have no idea what a candy corn might do in the oven, so I wouldn't try mixing it in.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Put the nuts in a mixing bowl and set aside. Put the butter into a small saucepan and place over medium heat. As the butter melts, add the thyme leaves, cumin, mustard, cayenne, allspice, and pepper. Allow to simmer for 1 minute. Pour the butter mixture over the nuts, add the salt and toss well to coat. Put the nuts onto a baking sheet in 1 layer. Sweetened dried cranberries, diced ½ cup
Lemon vinaigrette (recipe follows) ½ cup

Combine first five ingredients and toss with vinaigrette.

Whole-egg mayonnaise 3 cups
Lemonade concentrate 2 cups
Dijon mustard 2½ Tbsp.
